Arena Football In Canada, that is the Greater Toronto Indoor Football League (GTIFL). Canadian Football just got much better! The GTIFL is Arena, Gridiron Football played in an amateur indoor arena. We are the only Arena Football League within Canada played in the Greater Toronto Area and expanding soon across Canada. We play 8v8 Full Tackle football league that was founded in Toronto, Canada in November of 2023. The league consists of six teams that play an eight-game regular season from December to March followed by the playoff's and the championship game. The league aims to provide a fun and competitive environment for football enthusiasts in Canada and the Greater Toronto Area, as well as to reintroduce the sport of indoor arena football to Canada.
Indoor arena football is a variant of gridiron football that is played indoors on a smaller field than traditional football, designed to fit in the same surface area as a standard North American ice hockey rink. The game features eight players on each side, with unique rules and lots of action.
The GTIFL was created by a group of friends who shared a passion for football and wanted to try something new and exciting. The founders of the GTIFL also wanted to give an opportunity for local football players, coaches, and fans to participate and enjoy the game.
The GTIFL plays its games at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario. The Toronto Rock Athletic Centre is a premiere lacrosse and athletics center that also hosts various sports and events, such as soccer, rugby, baseball, and concerts. The facility has a state-of-the-art indoor turf field that can accommodate indoor arena football, as well as a seating capacity of 650 spectators.
The GTIFL has a loyal and passionate fan base, who support their teams with enthusiasm and pride. The league also has a number of sponsors and partners, such as Access Storage, Cedar Group Construction, Coopers inc, Dandelion Canada, King Fence, Krypton Steel, and many more who provide financial and promotional support to the league and its teams.
The GTIFL is currently in its third season, which started in December 2025. The league has seen a positive response and feedback from its players, coaches, fans, and sponsors. The league hopes to grow and improve its quality and popularity, and to establish itself as a pioneer and leader of indoor football in Canada.
